Light the Night Walk
Light the Night Walk
On Sunday, September 24th at 7:00pm the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will host the Annual Light The Night Walk where "Hope will not just flicker, but float". During this spectacular evening at The Church Street Market Place, walkers will unite as they fight for a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, and blood-related cancers. Participants will carry red illuminated balloons to commemorate and celebrate lives touched by cancer, while surviving cancer patients will carry white balloons as a light of hope. Family, friends, and colleagues will not only enjoy the magical spirit of fellowship and camaraderie, but also delightful food, entertainment and vendors.
More than 600,000 people in the United States are currently affected by blood related cancers. An estimated 60,000 of these patients will die this year. Leukemia remains the #1 disease killer of children and strikes 10 times as many adults. Please help provide hope to all of those patients, families, and friends coping with these diseases.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society would like to thank our Corporate sponsors for this years walk: WOKO 98.9 Radio, RETN TV, The Church Street Market Place and Key Bank. Additionally we would like to thank PEPSI, Miriam Graves, Ben & Jerry’s, and all other local businesses that have contributed to make this walk a success.
For more information on this illuminated parade of hope, please contact Kristina Babcock, Campaign Manager at 1-877-LTN-WALK. We can also encourage corporate walk teams to join us, in addition to family walk teams and our individual walkers. If you can not walk, but would like to volunteer, donate funds or prizes please contact the number above as well.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest private organization concerned solely with funding research towards cures for blood-related cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and improving the quality of life for patients and their families.
