Labor Day Parade
By Devon Ayers

On the first Saturday, of September there is an annual Labor Day Parade and Picnic in Burlington. The fun starts at 11 am at HO Wheeler school on the corner of Archibald and Walnut where you are invited not only to watch, but march with us down to Battery Park where we'll have FREE food, face painting, icecream, the Livable Wage Limbo, Dave Keller Band, and a few speakers including Bernie Sanders.

Help us celebrate all of Labor's achievements and show solidarity with all of our current struggles by bringing friends, family, puppets, signs, banners, cheers and whatever else you have to offer.

This event is sponsored by the Vermont Worker's Center, Congressman Sander's office, the Peace and Justice Cener, United Academics, Vermont Faith Communities for a Just Economy, the Vermont Progressive Party, the Central Labor Council, the VSEA, United Electrical Workers and many of Vermont's other Labor Unions (sorry if I left you out, I don't have a list in front of me).

Hope to see everyone there. If you have questions, give a shout out to the Worker's Center at 802-229-0009 or reply to me- devonayers@hotmail.com (please don't post questions on V-MGJ- it clogs it up). Please post this far and wide. Thanks...

Solidarity, Devon
