Northwestern Vermont Model Railroad Society will host Vermont's largest model train show on Saturday, March 15, 2003 at the Champlain Valley Exposition, Essex Junction, Vermont. The show will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is $4.00 for adults, $1.00 for children between 6 and 12 years old, and free for children under 6. With a 50% increase in floor space from last year, this year's show will feature more operating model railroads, a variety of hands-on activities for children, and over 100 tables for vendors of model railroading supplies. Food will also be available.
The non-profit Society was formed in 1978, and today has members from Chittenden, Lamoille, and Washington counties. Meetings are held every Wednesday evening at the Society's permanent HO-scale layout in the Pinewood Plaza, Essex Junction, Vermont. Meetings are devoted to continuing construction of the layout, operating sessions, and promotion of the hobby. The members are active in the community, showing portable layouts in multiple modeling scales at various charitable functions. Anyone interested in model railroading is encouraged to join.
