Kid's Day is an event specifically for children. It starts with the parade, which starts around 9:30 in the morning. And best of all, most of the events are free. If you want to be in the parade you should show up at Edmunds School on Main Street by 9:00, for the line up. You can decorate your stroller, bike, or wagon, and join the fun! Traffic is stopped on Main Street in Burlington this morning for a parade. It isn't a national holiday - but a celebration of kids. It was a day dedicated to the kids. All kinds of kids: from two legged "older" kids, to four legged pets-- dressed to impress Some commercial kid-favorites were on-hand ... not to mention some unique mascots. The parade led to a waterfront carnival. At the waterfront you will find many free events for children until about 3:30 in the afternoon. Though arts and crafts -- and sometimes-even goo -- parents were thankful for what kids got out of the day. popular Click here to read more.

Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson returns to the Contois Auditorium stage in Burlington's City Hall for a five-show, two-weekend run, every December. Pageant brings the expected warmth of the holiday season with a delightful twist. Anyone who has ever been involved with the annual Christmas pageant at school or at church will recognize the trials of Grace Bradley as she "inherits" the task of directing this year's production. Most of us, though, have never had to deal with the likes of the Herdmans--undoubtedly the meanest, nastiest, most inventively awful kids in the entire history of the whole wide world. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and the newly added HollyDaze Pre-Show Sing-Along together features a cast of over 35 children and 10 adults. Numerous sets of talented parents and their children will share the stage this year. Some ensemble members are making their 2nd and 3rd appearances in this holiday classic. popular Click here to read more.

Stunt Night, Rice High School's annual skit competition has traditionally been performed the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving at Memorial Auditorium, and has served as a reunion of sorts for alumni.
