Ice House Restaurant & Bar is located in a 199-year-old ice house. This casual yet classy waterfront steak and seafood restaurant has two large decks. Brunch served from Mother's Day through mid-October. The food and service are very inconsistant.Seems like each of their chefs has their own way of making the same dish!I often order the same few things(Fra Diavlo,Spinach Salad...)remembering how great they were 'that time', but never really knowing what to expect. Our last visit was a few weeks ago-the meal was pretty good(I actually tried something new..)my date and I ordered two different 'Specials' we spotted on the board on the way in and asked the server about them. All the reviews are mediocre to negative. Click here to read more.

Paulines Café and Restaurant serves brunch ($7.95 - $13.50), ($7.50 - $13.50 ; Sandwich & burgers), and dinner (APPETIZERS & SALADS for $5.50 - $10.95 and ENTRÉES for $15.00 - $26.00) In 1984, the first floor dining area was transformed into a cafe, with rich cherry paneling, custom oak tables, and an intimate cherry bar. Due to the restaurants expanding popularity, an addition now called the “porch" was added in 1996. Click here to read more.

Sneakers Bistro and Cafe' is exclusively a breakfast, lunch and brunch place that closes at 3pm and opens in the evening only for private parties. In business since 1980, Sneakers brags about being the oldest eating and drinking establishment in Winooski. The place has a casual, art deco décor. The building that houses the restaurant was erected in the late 1800s, and the original pressed tin ceiling remains. The walls are decorated with the works of local artists, many of them for sale. Behind the bar is a huge, dramatic fan-shaped cut- glass mirror. The menu, while heavy on the breakfast items (eggs Benedict, Belgian waffles and home fries, to name a few), has lunch standards too, from cheeseburgers to chicken breast sandwiches, and an extensive vegetarian menu, with nothing priced at more than $7.50. In spite of the vestigial full bar from its nightclub days, Sneakers management discourages folks from just wandering in to have a drink. (cafe) Click here to read more.

In the summertime, Sweetwaters' outdoor patio is standing room only. There are two enclosed patios, but the open patio is the main draw. If you come on a Sunday, you can sit inside and listen to the Blues Brunch, featuring blues and jazz standards performed by vocalist Jenni Johnson. Friday night features local musicians -- mostly contemporary acoustic sounds, though the bill often includes jazz or a cappella. While margaritas are the most requested drink, Sweetwaters is known for its fruity rum concoction, Man Overboard. There are 14 beers on tap, 10 of which are from local microbreweries, including Trout River and Otter Creek. And while it's been voted a popular pickup joint in the past, the bar crowd here is a bit older than the college crowd found at many Burlington bars. Businesspeople and local politicians are likely to fill Sweetwaters' brass-and-fern decorated rooms at lunch -- but a younger crowd will often show up after 9pm.
