When you click on a link in my directories, the web site you are requesting will be opened in a separate window or tab. This worked great until version six. Unfortunately, many web sites will open windows with advertisements and junk that you don't want. So Internet Explorer is asking you if you really requested that information or web site -- or is this web site just trying to force feed it to you? This web site does NOT open up pop-ups with ads or porn, here. I open up the web sites you request in a separate window or tab as a convenience.

The Pizzeria Uno Bar & Grill restaurant chain was created by Ike Sewell back in 1943. The chain speciallizes in Deep Dish Pizza. Some folks call it Chicago pizza. Ike figured that if you combined some of Italy's old, authentic recipes with impressive quantities of the finest meats, spices, vegetables and cheeses, pizza would become a hearty meal. So he opened Pizzeria Uno as a fine restaurant specializing in his new Deep Dish Pizza and it wasn't long before the restaurant had more customers than it could handle. In the late 1990's a local franchise was astablished on Shelburne in South Burlington. popular Click here to read more.

Big Daddy's Delivery is where College students and bar hoppers flock to for late-night wings, slices and subs. Open for delivery 'til 2 a.m. Big Daddy's is your typical college pizzeria. People don't come for the atmosphere or the experience...they come to fulfill their late night munchies. While the food isn't high quality (I'm sure most of their appetizers come frozen), they make a pretty good pizza. The house size pizza is ENORMOUS. I would definitely recommend the teriyaki chicken pizza. College kids go there because it's cheap.... Big Daddy's is perfect for the late night greasy slice. 177 Church Street, Burlington 863-0000

Capital Pizza Huts has been in operation since 1980's. Currently we operate 107 restaurants in New Jersey, Maine, Tennessee, Virginia, New Hampshire, Vermont and North Carolina. ... The first Pizza Hut was opened in 1958 by Dan Carney and his brother in their home town of Wichita, Kansas. First they borrowed from their mother. Then they bought some second-hand equipment and rented a small hut-shaped building. After putting the word "pizza" on the sign, they only had room for three more letters. Thus, the name "Pizza Hut" was born.

Ken's Pizza, of 71 Church Street, is an Italian pizzeria. Inexpensive eats and drinks. New York- style pizza, calzones, soups, tacos, salads, and sandwiches. Family owned and operated since 1973. The cozy atmosphere and reasonable prices have kept both locals and tourists coming back since 1973. There are Italian specialties, taco's and freshly made soups in addition to the New York-style pizza. Lots of outdoor seating in summer. Most of the reviews were good, complimenting the price and food quality. Service gets negative comments, though. Click here to read more.

Marco's Pizzeria of 1301 Williston Rd in South Burlington, sells Pizza, pasta, Appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. Their recent reviews are pretty poor though in both 7nvt.com and http://local.yahoo.com/details?id=10474877. Sample: I am a big calzone fan, but am disappointed in the lack of ingredients lately in both the calzone and the pies themselves. Both times, I ordered something unusual: spinach, pepp and garlic in the calzone. Artichoke and black olive on the pie. I couldn't see the spinach in the calzone, nor could I taste the garlic. What was delivered was a doughy concoction of mozzarella and ricotta (and not much of that) with about 10 pepp slices -- fairly dry and flavorless compared to the potential for a calzone that should be stuffed. Same with the pie: The sauce came to 3 inches from the edge and the cheese topping was whispered over it. The "artichoke was about 15 sparse leaves of a size no bigger than a clove of garlic skin. Pretty lousy value for a pie. Click here to read more.

Pizza Hut began in 1958, when two college students from Wichita, Kansas, were approached by a family friend with the idea of opening a pizza parlor. Although the concept was relatively new to many Americans at that time, the brothers quickly saw the potential of this new enterprise. ... Today, our five core pizzas, Pan Pizza, Thin ’N Crispy®, Hand-Tossed Style, Stuffed Crust and The Big New Yorker, are loved by millions around the world and have become the standard by which all others are judged. We strive to present the finest products the industry has to offer and to provide those products wherever and whenever people want them. To achieve these goals, we’ve developed a number of services and points of distribution through the years. Yes, we’ve come a long way since that opening night back in 1958 when pizzas were given away to generate interest in the brand new business. Click here to read more.

The state Health Department inspection program rates restaurants on 44 measures of food handling and housekeeping. The department has put extra emphasis on 13 of the measures....These "critical" items must be corrected during the time of inspection.... Points are subtracted from a score of 100 for each failing noted by the inspector..... A restaurant must score above 70 and have all critical items corrected or the establishment will be asked to close. The Burlington Free Press keeps a running list of the most recent score for all restaurants, listed by town (or for all towns in Vermont). Click here to read more.
