Anything’s Pastable
is the good stuff. The kind you get on the streets of Italy. Made the same way - hand-pressed cut pasta, thinly rolled ravioli and authentic ricotta cream filled cannolis. Like nothing you’ve ever tasted before. Real Italian cuisine you cook at home in just 5 minutes!
Anything’s Pastable is available at many retail and Health Food stores around the region or visit our Factory Store in Essex for the largest selection of fettuccini, linguine, angel hair, ravioli, sauces and cannoli.
We use the freshest, all-natural ingredients in our pasta and sauces. Each made with precise attention to detail, following recipes handed down through many generations. Really. Most of the ingredients are purchased from local producers. We produce in small quantities, thus ensuring that every product is the absolute freshest it can be before it gets to your table.
Once you’ve tried our real Italian, you’ll never go back to making pasta from a box.

Blimpie
is located at 370 Shelburne Road in Burlington VT 05401 802-652-9828 Blimpie's signature sub made from Ham, Salami, Prosciuttini, Cappacola and Provolone. I don't know who thought of it, but its one good sub. Yes, Blimpies is a carry-out Sub shop, but unlike other Carry out sub shoppes Blimpies does not sacrifice quality for quickness. They also have crisp fresh sliced lettuce, tomatoes, onions, sweet or hot peppers and oregano to top off your sub. For those of you from New York or Chicago who are used to having real deli's all over the place, Blimpie may be the closest you come to that same taste and quality. Walk into any other “sub shop” and ask them for Cappacola or Prosciuttini and see if they even know what you are talking about. Best of yet, most Blimpie locations also have a large salad selection, making it a well rounded place for anyone to eat lunch.

Red Onion Café
Specializes in Sandwiches in many types of breads, but also sells cookies, salads, and homemade soups from it's cafe at 140 1/2 Church Street in Burlington.
"Homemade fresh bread generously cut, crisp and fresh veggies, plenty of meat. It can be an issue for some people (my wife included) to eat because it's so thick when they load everything up.
The atmosphere is pretty nice too with seating inside or out on Church Street. A little crowded inside, but whether you take your food to go or eat there, the taste quickly makes you forget any shortcomings of the establishment (if there are any, I can't remember)."

The state Health Department inspection program rates restaurants
on 44 measures of food handling and housekeeping. The department has put extra emphasis on 13 of the measures....These "critical" items must be corrected during the time of inspection.... Points are subtracted from a score of 100 for each failing noted by the inspector..... A restaurant must score above 70 and have all critical items corrected or the establishment will be asked to close. The Burlington Free Press keeps a running list of the most recent score for all restaurants, listed by town (or for all towns in Vermont).

TJ's Deli
is at 1341 Shelburne Road in South Burlington. They specialize in Sandwiches , Signature Wraps , salads, subs, and hamburgers.
Top of the Block Sandwich Shoppe
is located at the top of Church Street, right by the shoe store and the used book store. It's easy to walk past the shop not even knowing it exists; the specials sign outside is the biggest eye catcher.
Inside, you have a basic little sandwich shop which shares it's space with a few other small businesses. There are a few small tables to eat at but most people do takeout.
Sandwiches are obiously their speciality, but they also serve fresh pasta salads, soups, and deserts. I'm a firm believer that bread is what makes a good sandwich shop and Top of the Block uses top-notch freshly baked bread.
I recommend trying one of their grilled sandwiches, it's what I was told to try when I first went there. Honestly, I can't comment to too much of their food, mainly because I'm addicted to their tuna melt. It's by far one of the best I've ever had.
Next time you are looking for a great sandwich on Church Street, definately give this place a try.
