Alternate LifestylesNot everyone in Burlington is a church going heterosexual that grows up, gets a job earning an honest and legal income, gets married to someone of the opposite gender, and has children by way of their sexual activity with that person. An "Alternate lifestyle" can be anything that deviates from what most of us would consider to the normal (and traditional) lifestyle that is recommended by the Lord. In fact, Burlington seems to attract many people that choose to live other life styles. I realized that there were many things I had not been sure how to categorize that would easily fit in this category.

Homeless street peopleAs a former live-in volenteer of the Burlington Emergency Shelter, I know first hand that there are two types of homeless people. The "homeless worker" and the "homeless street people". Most homeless street people I have seen either make choices that cause them to keep loosing the jobs or choose not to look for work at all.
